Website copywriting and editing for the European Commission’s education and culture pages

Client:

DG Education and Culture (DG EAC), European Commission

In late 2013, Ecorys were asked by DG EAC to write, edit and proofread content for a number of their thematic websites including Creative Europe, Sport, Youth, Education and Training and Languages.

Working closely with DG EAC, we devised a user-friendly template for each page to enable readers to easily understand the subject matter. We then proceeded to rewrite the pages, using both the existing content for guidance and our own research.

We focused on presenting the information in a simple and clear way to maximise readability. Sentences and paragraphs were kept as short and succinct as possible, and we employed a series of sub-headings to group the information appropriately.

By streamlining the information on the pages, we have helped to “demystify” the work of DG EAC and present its policies and funding opportunities in a way that can be understood by a global, multicultural audience.
