Corporate social responsibility (CSR) for Ecorys UK means that we take account of the impacts of our business activities on the environment, society and the economy. Ecorys UK aims to make a positive difference to society. We do this through our work for clients as well as by minimising any negative impacts of our operations. We are committed to behaving in a socially responsible way in our everyday operations, improving our impact as a company in terms of ‘people, planet and profit’.
Each year we focus our activities onto different areas such as energy saving and paper use. We hold an annual volunteering day in which all of our staff go out into the community and work as a team to create a positive impact on their local area. As part of our charitable giving we are donating 1% of our profits this year to a charity chosen by staff. We also promote a ‘Give as You Earn’ scheme.
Charity of the year
We are delighted to announce that our Charity of the Year for 2017 will be Contact the Elderly. Come back soon to hear about our work with them during 2017.
Women’s Aid was our Charity of the Year for 2016.
Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children.
“Over the past 40 years Women’s Aid has been at the forefront of shaping and coordinating responses to domestic violence and abuse through practice. We empower survivors by keeping their voices at the heart of our work, working with and for women and children by listening to them and responding to their needs. We are a federation of over 220 organisations who provide more than 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across the country.
“We provide expert training, qualifications and consultancy to a range of agencies and professionals working with survivors or commissioning domestic abuse services, and award a National Quality Mark for services which meet our quality standards. Our campaigns achieve change in policy, practice and awareness, encouraging healthy relationships and helping to build a future where domestic abuse is no longer tolerated. The 24 Hour National Domestic Violence Helpline on 0808 2000 247 (run in partnership with Refuge) and our range of online services, which include the Survivors’ Forum, help hundreds of thousands of women and children every year.”

Ecorys UK has a strong history of being involved with social issues, and this is reflected in our company culture – we are an employee-owned company and our mission is to do work that makes a difference. Corporate social responsibility is the backbone of the Ecorys UK family and we hold a wide range of fundraising activities throughout the year.
In addition to our commitment to donating 1% of our company profits, fundraising efforts to support our charities each year have included an Ecorys Bake Off, Harry Potter day, fancy dress day, multicultural food day, an annual 13 and 26 mile walk, and challenges such as Tough Mudder and the British 10k in London (see picture above of colleagues Vicky Pelka, Eleanor Harvie and Vicki Donlevy).
Previous charities that we have supported include...
As part of our CSR activities, we hold a summer volunteering day so that we can do some good work in our local communities. For the past two years, we have worked with Thrive, a charity that uses gardening as therapy for people with learning and physical disabilities.
