Kursat Levent Egriboz

Chris Whitfield

We are very sad to announce that our colleague Kursat Levent Egriboz has passed away following a short illness. This is a huge loss to us all, both from a business perspective and to many from a very personal one. For all of us who worked with Kursat we will see him as irreplaceable both as a colleague and a friend.

Kursat was passionate about his work, and education and training were particularly close to his heart. He will be remembered for his positivity, sense of humour and his ability to make everyone he came into contact with feel valued. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends.

Kursat was Managing Director of Ecorys’ Technical Assistance Division and Director of the Lifelong Learning Programme National Agency, and had worked for Ecorys for over 15 years. Kursat worked hard to grow Ecorys in to the business it is today and he was instrumental in winning, delivering and directing some of our largest contracts.

We are very sad to announce the death of Chris Whitfield who joined the regeneration and economic development division of Ecorys in 2002 leaving only in May 2012. He was looking forward to his new role at Warwick University that perfectly matched his analytical skills.

Chris had a passion for the outdoors and hill walking. In 2008 and 2009 he took a sabbatical to walk in the Andes and was due to make a trip to the Alps this summer. In practice for that trip Chris visited Snowdonia, an area he knew and loved well. Sadly, he fell to his death in a tragic accident.

Chris was much liked by his colleagues in Birmingham and those who worked with him appreciated his endeavour, sincerity and his dry sense of humour. He was keen to explore the potential of data analysis and interpretation and was responsible for developing the Ecorys-REMI model in the UK. He was respected by colleagues and clients alike and will be much missed by both.
